Just wanted to say hello to all members and thanks for allowing me to join the Altec board...

I was introduced to Altec long about 1961 when I was hired by the then exclusive Altec Sound Contractor in Houston,Texas...Designed, sold, and installed Altec systems for most of the usual venues...

Was hired by Altec to be their Regional Manager for New England and up state New York territrory..

Couple years later I became Altec's Regional Manager for Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, western Tennessee and New Mexico..

I was fortunate enough during my lifetime in the sound business to be involved with the greats like Don Davis, Dr. C.P.Boner, Dr. Jack Randorff to mention a few...

Well, this is my story and I am sticking to it...:thankU: for reading my post...

Lots like you've been around, glad to have you here. You'll see a lot of other experienced Altec pros here, too. We've got quite a team - good to have you join us.

Quick question. Did the Astrodome have an Altec system, do you remember?

Absolutely yes...100% Altec ...Furnished and installed by Taft Broadcasting of Houston, Texas...Only non Altec gear as I remember were the Dr. C.P Boner furnished narrow band filters...Do not remember manufacturer of the mixing console...

Taft Broadcasting also furnished and installed the New Orleans Superdome..

Thanks bfish...Quick Altec related story came to mind seeing you are from Arkansas...

While serving as Regional Manager for Altec, covering Arkansas, I was returning back over the Boston Mountains from Fayetville in my brand new Altec furnished company Chevrolet Malibu...Shortly after leaving the winding roads up on the mountain I was approaching Van Buren and as I was going around a traffic circle my left front spindle and wheel broke off...

Guess the Altec regional manager Gods were sitting on my shoulder that night..
